But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – Isaiah 40:31
How many of you set intentions, especially at the beginning of a new year? I have done so many times. The year 2016 stands out for me as a turning point for where I am today. I set the intention to “expand my wings,” and I did. I embraced the opportunity through a non-profit organization to coach single moms and families in need to bring their self-worth to light in their eyes. I had the privilege of speaking to teachers, counselors, and individuals who were interested in improving their health holistically. Then 2017 appeared. I drew my wings in, and they covered me in protection of what that year would bring. I feel it is essential to take a look and reflect on where you’ve been. I don’t want to place my attention in the past, but do want to be aware. This allows me to step into the acceptance of where I am today.

2017 brought the following: strength through difficult times, growth in my faith, navigation of a loved one with dementia, acceptance that it’s “okay” to let go, understanding that everything—good, bad or indifferent—is temporary, awareness that what is normal today may not be normal tomorrow, and realizing that everything is preparation for what is to come. Holding on to Isaiah 40:31 during 2017, I am now ready to “SOAR” into 2018 with very little holding me down. I receive what has been given. I have so much gratitude as I go into 2018. My intention for 2018 is: Live Fully and SOAR. What might be your intention for 2018? Get ready. Reset your attention in order to set your intention.
What will your intention bring to your life?
